How 10XL’s Optimisation Works

Discovery Month 1

We start by understanding your goals and build a strategy to help move you towards it. Optimisation involves leveraging existing assets and guiding the creation of new ones. The approach is collaborative and cross-functional. We might look at optimising ecommerce revenue, conversion rate, organic search traffic or even customer lifetime value.

Test & Learn Months 2-3

We establish a backlog of test ideas and implement content-based edits. Any new functionality, code or production work required will be scoped and prioritised within your project roadmap. As more data becomes available we share AB test results and analytics/attribution reports, building an archive of outputs, outcomes and ROI.

CRO BAU Month 3+

After 3 months, we will begin a quarterly review, readjusting our analytics setup or strategy as we transition to managing the pipeline of work. We may launch entirely new customer journies, website themes or shoot new content to support the plan. As we ship more tests, we continually finetune our understanding of which levers to pull and the potential for uplift when making changes to your marketing funnel.

Frequently asked questions

  • CRO maximizes the value of the traffic you're already getting daily.

By optimising your website or landing pages for conversions, you're not just increasing sales or leads; you're also enhancing user experience, understanding your customer's behaviour better, and making data-driven decisions.

This results in higher ROI on all your digital marketing efforts and can lead to compounding returns when scaling growth.

  • The duration of a CRO test depends on several factors such as the amount of traffic your website receives, the conversion rates, and the magnitude of changes you're testing.

Generally, a test should run long enough to gather statistically significant data, which could range from two weeks to several months. It's important to consider factors like business cycles and seasonal trends in your testing period.

Brands should measure the cost/benefit behind running tests for too long. In a fast paced world, sometimes tests need to be pushed live with lower levels of confience in order to make way for new steams of work and seasonal or strategic changes. Always consider your opportunity costs when planning a test and learn programme.

  • There are several excellent CRO tools available. Popular options include:

    • Optimizely: known for its robust A/B testing and multivariate testing capabilities.

    • VWO (Visual Website Optimizer): offers a suite of tools including A/B testing, heatmaps, and visitor recordings.

    • Shogun: great for optimising landing pages.

The best software depends on your specific needs, budget, and the complexity of the tests you want to run. For small brands based in New Zealand or Australian with less than 50,000 visitors per month, we usually will recommend one of the free VWO plans.

  • SEO should be an ongoing effort. It's not a one-time task but a continuous process of optimising your website to deserve higher rankings in search engine results.

The earlier you start, the better, as it takes time to get results from SEO efforts. Start by regularly updating your website with high-quality content, optimising for relevant keywords, and ensuring user experience and technical SEO best practices are covered.

  • No ethical SEO professional or agency can guarantee specific rankings or results. SEO is influenced by a large number of factors, including search engine algorithms that are constantly changing.

However, experienced SEO professionals can significantly improve your chances of ranking well by employing best practices and a data-driven approach.

  • Diagnosing and addressing sudden drops in organic traffic is part of our expertise.

This could involve conducting a thorough audit to identify issues such as penalties, technical problems, or changes in search engine algorithms.

From there, we can develop a recovery plan, which usually includes a mix of technical fixes, content optimisation, and link-building strategies.
